Each year, more than 3,000 people apply for 68 covet spots. Our graduates are versatile and collaborative, providing critical health manage to people throughout the department of state of Utah, the Mountain West, and the nation .

The Utah Physician Assistant Program ( UPAP ) at the University of Utah, School of Medicine is one of the oldest dad programs in the country, and has held continued accreditation since 1971. We are gallant of our inheritance that includes the MEDEX model and co-sponsorship of the Utah Medical Association, the largest constituency association in the state of Utah. As a program created from the MEDEX model, UPAP is committed to training PAs who will be prepared to meet the challenges of providing high quality care to patients in medically underserved and rural communities. UPAP has been systematically ranked as a lead 10 PA Program in the country by the US News and World Report since rankings have been provided in 2004.

As the oldest pascal program with a endlessly accredited plan in the western United States, we are honored to be part of the Division of Physician Assistant Studies and Department of Family and Preventive Medicine with campuses located both in Salt Lake City and St. George, Utah .
The vehemence of our mission-based course of study is educating doctor assistants to evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions in patients of all ages utilizing a primary care mannequin. The plan trains doctor assistants to work with physicians as function of a health manage team to improve the quality and entree to primary care. At the successful completion of train, students are awarded a dominate of Physician Assistant Studies ( MPAS ) degree.

Accreditation Status
The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant ( ARC-PA ) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Utah Physician Assistant Program sponsored by University of Utah School of Medicine and the Utah Medical Association. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a presently accredited program is in complaisance with the ARC-PA Standards .
accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or seclude from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the following establishment review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2026. The inspection date is contingent upon retain submission with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy .
