The Logo Queen of TikTok
Emily Zugay has quickly become TikTok ’ second Logo Queen, gaining more than 12 million views in less than two weeks with her “ neat ” redesigns of celebrated logos .
Logo redesigns have been trending on TikTok for a little while. Most frequently, designers put their own spin on iconic son and the result is normally in a more modern, twist reimagining. Emily Zugay ’ sulfur logos are not this. She has, to put it lightly, a style of her own. Zugay ’ second designs are intentionally and hilariously bad – and people are absolutely loving it .
“ I graduated college with a academic degree in purpose and I redesigned some popular logos I think we can all agree are ugly. ” Taking on the likes of Nascar, Starbucks, Tinder, and the Washington Post, Zugay starts her video recording by outlining the “ faults ” in each logo she ’ second decided to improve on.

The first logo she tackled was Starbucks. She states that she did not like anything about the logo, doesn ’ triiodothyronine like the color and doesn ’ triiodothyronine understand the trope who may be “ a president of the united states or something. ” She decided to redesign it to give off a happy feel, explaining that she “ wanted to maintain the integrity of the stars in the original logo ” She came up with the follow :
From there, she took on the iconic Apple logo. Explaining to her TikTok fans that there was no symmetry and no words indicating which brand it is – “ You just have to guess, so I don ’ thymine like that. ”
Her thoughts behind her redesign were that Apple needed a type that was fun and appealing to the youth like herself. Before the Apple logo she had redesigned the H & R Block logo and missed the green barricade that she took out of it, so decided to incorporate it into the Apple logo .
Her Target logo redesign was unique to say the least, as she left out the “ R ” in “ Target ” and ran with it, with absolutely no explanation. To her, the Target logo equitable didn ’ t make any sense. She felt that it was outdated and childish and wanted to take inspiration from Kmart ’ sulfur logo, because she missed it. She chose the dark red with the think that it was more mature, and a “ dainty ” font to elevate the design. Including a deer besides “ precisely made more feel. ”
Zugay left it up to her viewers to comment on what brands logos they wanted to see redesign next. With an overwhelm amount of feedback, she continued posting more. Brands detect and started adding comments asking her to redesign their logos. immediately she has growing list of brands looking for her harness to their son next : Disney Channel, McDonalds, Red Bull, Hulu, Amazon, Dove, Subway, Xbox, NFL… the list goes on ! “Doesn’t really seem confident to me, so I capitalized the logo”. No mention of the misspelling of “Tinder,” but Zugay did think to include a tagline so that users could understand exactly how the app works: an arrow pointing left, and the phrase “swipe right.”
“I wanted to make it look like the words were flying through the air at a very fast speed.”
“Nothing resembles time or a clock.” So she added a clock. She kept the colors because “they were ok” and chose that font because it reminded her of the TV show Cops.
“I don’t like the colors, I don’t like the font, I don’t like anything about it.” Was Zugay’s unvarnished assessment of the NASA logo. “I don’t know why they tried to include a bird too, that doesn’t work for me,” referencing the red “swoosh” in the logo. For her redesign, she kept it simple and timeless – who doesn’t like Comic Sans?
“I don’t really understand this logo… I needed to simplify it quite a bit.” No further explanation needed.
A re-brand for the Washington Post, featuring George “Washington” Bush, a fun font and, of course, a few stars for good measure.
One for all the creatives in the house. Zugay feels she really blew it out of the park with the Adobe logo (Or is it Abode?).
possibly the most surprising fans of Zugay ’ south redesigns are the brand themselves. many were happy to go along with the antic and responded by changing the logo in their TikTok profiles to Zugay ’ s design. phonograph needle to say, TikTokers loved it and have been going brainsick in the comments. Many brands have even reposted Zugay ’ s TikTok that features their “ newfangled ” logo .
